About Us
The Republican Council was founded in the 1990's as the Republican Leadership Council. We are a Political Action Committee (PAC) registered with both the Maryland Board of Election Laws and the Federal Election Commission. We are not affiliated with any campaign, nor are we governed by any Republican Party organization.
We are committed to returning our Country to reasonable and responsible government with pride in America and in American values. We believe in limited government, personal responsibility, freedom of speech, the right of individuals to bear arms, our military, secure borders, fiscal responsibility, equal opportunity, the Constitution, the Rule of Law, and the greatness of our Country.
Our plan is to find, identify, recruit, and help elect reasonable, responsible, Republican candidates at the local, state, and federal level. We will help get them elected, and, once elected, we plan to make certain they stay true to these values. We will provide them with our grass roots ideas and perspectives, and we will monitor and publicize their positions, speeches, and votes.
This is who we are and what we believe:
- We believe in our country and are proud to be American. We are Americans first and identify ourselves as such. We welcome legal immigrants who respect their new country and become Americans first and foremost.
- We encourage equal opportunity for all and recognize that equal outcome cannot and should not be guaranteed by government.
- We believe in personal freedom and taking personal responsibility for our actions.
- We vote to reduce government and lessen our tax load so that our country can grow and prosper in a prudent fashion.
- We support the men and women who defend our country and protect our lives, homes, and way of life.
- We stand by our Constitution and work to elect those who will serve as honest “citizen” representatives, rather than career politicians who all too often ignore the people’s views.
- We seek clean air, clean water, and responsible approaches to achieving those goals.
- We welcome all to our group no matter their race, gender, or religious belief.
We are saddened and outraged that many no longer have a moral backbone. Honesty and integrity are no longer revered in some circles. Lack of courtesy toward others is commonplace, whether breaking in line, failing to yield, or fighting over a parking place. Lawbreaking is too often considered the norm, whether cheating on taxes, buying stolen goods because they're "a good deal," or lying under oath.
That's not us, and we don't believe it's the heart of America. We know America is better than that. Courteous, hard-working, honest, citizens don't spend their time speaking out on political matters and calling attention to themselves. They're busy raising families and making ends meet.
We believe that most Americans have had enough, but they don't know what to do or how to do it. That's where we come in.
We are the Republican Council, and we want to help our country to be great again. We can't do it alone. Please join us.
