We believe that working together is the best way to make progress. We've tried to fill a gap in membership opportunities for Republicans in Talbot County and the surrounding areas, and we will continue to coordinate and combine our efforts with all groups working toward common goals.
The Republican Council (formerly the Republican Leadership Council of Talbot County) is a Political Action Committee (PAC) registered with both the Maryland Board of Election Laws and the Federal Election Commission. We are not affiliated with any other organization. Accordingly, we are not restricted in our activities other than by the law. That means that we can assist with campaign activities before the Primary, if that is the appropriate thing to do. We can raise money and contribute to candidates. Because we are registered and must follow reporting requirements, we have far fewer restrictions on what we can do from a funding perspective than if we were not a PAC.
You're reading this page because you've been invited to join us as a fulll member without paying any dues. We invite all Officers and members of the Boards of every Republican organization, as well as all currently serving Republican elected officials, to join us with a Complimentary Membership. We think your service is sufficient payment, and this is simply our small way of recognizing the time and effort you put in on our behalf.
Please help us to contact others to grow our organization. Just as you can become more influential by knowing what's going on and gaining respect from others as an informed citizen, we can become more influential by having more members. When we are recruiting the best candidate to run for office, we want to be able to tell them that we can contact a great many people on their behalf, that we can help them with their efforts to be known, and that we can help them hear the concerns of their constituents. Similarly, if all of us feel the need to be heard by elected officials on issues of concern, we can more easily represent your interests when we all band together and carry the message.
